Dr André Gosselin
Emeritus Professor of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at Laval University, Dr. André Gosselin led the research that mastered the technology of photosynthetic lighting for the growth of annual vegetable crops in greenhouses. Developed in Quebec in collaboration with several partners, it makes it possible to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and peppers during the cold weather and short light conditions of winter found in Quebec and Canada. The technology is now used in the Scandinavian countries, Holland, France, the United States, etc. An accomplished entrepreneur, Dr. Gosselin is the co-founder of many companies, including Les Fraises de l’Ile d’Orléans Inc., of which he is the current owner.
