The speakers for the second edition of the Canadian Conference on Cannabis are now made public

Building on the success of the first presentation of the Canadian Conference on Cannabis held last October in Quebec City, the organizers are moving forward with a second edition that will take place on October 7 in the formula of a webinar, result of the ongoing pandemic.

The virtual formula will be adapted in both French and English to promote knowledge sharing and provide maximum user-friendliness for listeners. Participants will have an extended time slot to watch the lectures giving them more freedom in choosing the ideal moment.

Sponsored by a Quebec-based company, PurCann Pharma, the event will bring together an impressive list of experts who will share their latest advances and new uses arising from scientific research on cannabis. Issues surrounding the cannabis market and production will also be addressed.

Participants will be treated to an analysis of the evolution of research on the effects of cannabis on human health, an overview of medical practices that integrate cannabis, as well as a presentation on the potential of edible products.

Renowned speakers will follow one another and attendees will hear from the experts who are shaping the cannabis industry. The complete program of the event, as well as the registration form for this day of discussions, can be found at www.conferencecannabis.ca.

PurCann Pharma is positioning itself to become a leader in the extraction and purification of molecules from hemp and cannabis. The company believes that recreational use of cannabis will be supplanted in the very short future by medical cannabis products.

This is why the company is focusing its efforts on various cannabinoids such as THC and CBD, but also on those with beneficial effects on stress, anxiety, pain, insomnia and certain skin conditions. PurCann Pharma’s objective is to obtain pure, high-quality extracts free from pesticides and other unwanted molecules. It is with this in mind that the company inaugurated in early 2020 a brand-new factory in Quebec City to achieve these goals.

SiliCycle receives its Health Canada Research license

Quebec, September 6, 2019 – SiliCycle is moving forward in its research for processes to extract and purify the various cannabinoids contained in cannabis and hemp. The company aims to obtain pure, high-quality extracts that are free of pesticides and other undesirable molecules. It is with this in mind that the company is pleased to have taken another step towards this goal by obtaining from Health Canada a research license to continue its work. SiliCycle is now tackling the development of innovative extraction and purification processes for different biomasses of cannabis.

“We’re seeing a trend for cannabinoid production, but even more so with the potential to offer these substances in pure form or standardized specifically for inclusion in other products. These applications will make natural mixtures consistent in order to have the desired amounts and proportions in a stable and predictable manner despite the variations of these molecules in plants. In this way, we will be able to provide the clientele with the expected effects, an essential condition for commercial success, “said SiliCycle President Hugo St-Laurent.

It should be noted that pure cannabinoids are also sought after by the pharmaceutical industry, in particular CBD, given the absence of euphoric effects, as well as CBG and CBN. SiliCycle is counting on the forthcoming opening of its plant to implement efficient and environmentally friendly extraction and purification processes that will make it possible to develop a wide variety of hemp and cannabis-based biomass products. In January, the company created a new division, PurCann Pharma, to foresee and manage this project.

The plant’s processing capacity will reach 15,000 kg per day which will enable SiliCycle to produce hundreds of kilograms of different types of extracts. The plant will also be equipped with finished product preparation units including capsules, tinctures, etc. to meet customer needs, thus the need for Health Canada’s approval and obtaining the required license.
